| Bio: | Let's talk: Tell me about children's literature you love and why. I'm Deborah Watley. My passion is children's literature, stemming from my own childhood. I took a short break going into young adulthood while I concentrated on more "grown-up" reading and writing. I even became a newspaper reporter. But, after marriage and children, I have returned to my love of kid lit. Besides, I believe C.S. Lewis contended that a well-written story has appeal for both children and adults. I am an associate member of the Iowa Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, a copyeditor for Mystic Publishing, located in Iowa, and co-author (with Sharon Burch) of Freddie the Frog and Crater Island (to be released in 2009). | |||||||
